If you had told me ten years ago that I would practice an intense sport like acroyoga, everyone around me would have called you crazy.

My life began with challenges. I spent my first four years in an East German hospital, fighting simply to live. I was far behind in my physical development and had to catch up quickly—learning to walk, swim, and ride a bike while my peers were already taller and stronger. I was told I was “not normal,” that I shouldn’t do certain things—especially sports. At school, I wasn’t even graded because I was labeled 60% disabled.

For 19 years, I carried those beliefs. Then I left my small German hometown to discover who I really was. I slowly began doing everything I was told I couldn’t do—and nothing bad happened. Still, seeing sports as something I could truly enjoy wasn’t on my radar.

In 2019, a friend invited me to an acroyoga meet-up in the park in Cologne. That day, I happened to train with one of the most experienced bases in the community. He guided me into poses I had never imagined possible for my body. It blew my mind. For the first time, I felt an immense joy and excitement that has never left me.

I followed every training opportunity that summer—until the pandemic interrupted everything. I couldn’t let it go, though. I began practicing privately with my first training partner, Chris. When gatherings opened up again, I was already preparing to move to Mexico.

In Playa del Carmen, I joined classes at AcroMex, even though they were far beyond my level at the time. That’s also when I first met Jorge. Two years later, after continuing to train as a beginner in my own rhythm, our shared acroyoga journey truly began in 2023.

I believe acroyoga is part of my healing. It challenges me, yet it feels gentle. In training, I meet my edges and face my fears—while being physically and emotionally supported. It brings up emotions I used to suppress because I thought I always had to be strong. Acroyoga became a passion I share with Jorge. His reassurance that he won’t give up on me, no matter how hard it gets, has been deeply transformative. That’s why I see such a powerful somatic healing element in acroyoga. It helps people reconnect with themselves, build trust, and release long-held patterns.

In December 2025, we completed our 100-hour Level 1 Teacher Training with AcroYoga Montreal. This was another big milestone in my life—a powerful reminder that you become who you choose to be, not what others once said you were. Now we share our passion, skills, and journey through our own academy and content.

For me, acroyoga is a dance between feminine and masculine energies—an exchange of giving and receiving. It mirrors the dynamics of every relationship: with a partner, and with oneself.

Beyond Acroyoga, I love singing, traveling, having deep conversations, learning new things, spending quality time with friends, and dancing to electronic music.
